National Prevention Week 2026

National Prevention Week, observed annually in May since its creation in 2012, highlights the importance of preventing substance use and misuse and promoting mental health. At a time when young people across South Carolina are celebrating major milestones (sometimes in risk-prone scenarios), this observance reminds us that everyone has a role to play in prevention. It also showcases the crucial work of communities and organizations across the country.

This “plug-and-play” toolkit includes:

  • Social media content (including text, graphics, and videos) to educate social media audiences and provide prevention tips
  • Resources for learning about pillars of prevention such as mental health

The toolkit was created as a one-stop shop for Open Conversation SC’s partner organizations – please share with your audiences across social media channels and beyond. Download the files below to get started.
